Drafting for Knockout
Plan for the first exchange and for the space left at the end.
Protect the opening without losing the endgame
Long-range pressure can help avoid an early disadvantage on open maps. Yet a composition that only works at maximum distance may become uncomfortable later. Check what happens when the enemy closes the gap or available space contracts.
A risky specialist needs an actual route to an advantage. If one failed entry leaves the team unable to contest, consider a safer option or a teammate who can support the approach. Avoid giving all three picks the same weakness.
Use revealed enemies to choose your final answer
Cover can enable a thrower, but exposed routes and available wall-breaking change its safety. Against vulnerable ranged opponents, an entry threat may be useful only if it can reach them on this map. A class label alone does not settle that question.
Before locking, ask whether the team can survive the opening, pressure safely and handle close contact later. Live Draft uses the current map and picks to help compare your available alternatives.
Before you lock in.
- Can we survive the opening?
- Who threatens the enemy from safety?
- What is our plan when space runs out?
